If anyone is looking for a yoga studio, I would highly recommended Barefoot Yoga Shala. From the moment I walked into the studio and was greeted by Jenny, I knew this was the place for me. Her contagious personality and uplifting spirit made me feel welcome and her passion for yoga is evident in her teaching. Her classes are consistently amazing no matter whether you are a beginner or a seasoned yogi. The studio offers a variety of classes as well as Reiki sessions, which I have had the pleasure of experiencing. Jenny is a natural healer and her session combines her experiences and teachings to create a comfortable and effective healing environment. This studio has helped me reignite my spirit and reminded me of certain passions that I had somehow forgotten. The studio and the mat have now become a second home to me, a place of comfort, fun, and laughter where you can truly be yourself. Thank you for the continued encouragement and for pushing me to the next level! — Joyce L
I can not say enough about the Shala, for me personally it feels like my second safe place…next to my own home. I walk in seeking solace, strength and relaxation, and leave every time with not only that but an abundance of fulfillment, self worth and grounding. Jenny the owner, is not only empowering as an instructor, but has an incredible gift of making each and every person feel that she is directly gearing the class towards them. Her choice of music, meditations (readings) and decor makes even the newest “yogi” feel comfortable trying something new. Egos are left at the door, we are taught that everyone is on their own path, which makes practicing fun and stress-free. I thought of a million excuses of why I couldn’t go to yoga twice a week, mainly my schedule, being the owner of a small business is a 24 hour affair. But after my first class I KNEW it was a necessity that I not only carve out the time to go, but allow myself to be fully present when I am there…I now try to make 3-4 classes a week! There are no other places in the world I can be completely off the gird. I will sing the praises of the shala and Jenny until I am blue in the face. Thank you Jenny for giving me the tools to find breath in my daily life, reground myself but most importantly thank you for giving me a place to go when the world seems a little overwhelming. — Shannon M
This is a fantastic studio for anyone who is unsure about trying yoga for the first time. The community is full of loving teachers who get to know you before putting your asana to work. The regulars are humble and friendly people of all types of backgrounds. I’m so pleased to have found this studio just over a year ago and continue to love the benefits of having a yoga home where I can be myself. ॐ Marco V.
I have been going to BYS for about 6 months now and it has honestly become my second home. This is so much more then a Yoga studio. The owner Jenny, is so friendly and welcoming- her positive energy is contagious. She offers beginner classes, Vinyassa, Prana flow, deep stretch yoga, and Kundalini. You will find her prices are very fair, and some of her classes are by donation. You will never flow through the exact same routine, and she will challenge you with new poses every day.
I have honestly learned so much from BYS, and I have never felt physically better then I do now. I have attended monthly Reiki circles, Ayurvedic Medicine workshops,…I even went on a retreat with the yoga studio to Stowe Vermont this summer where we practiced yoga with horses. Next, I am looking forward to taking Jenny’s Vinyassa teacher training course which starts in January. If you are looking to try yoga for the first time, or to enhance your current practice- This is the perfect studio! Meghan R.
